Venom 2: Let there be Carnage (fixed)

Recently I began re-watching Venom for the first time after seeing it in theaters. You know that Sony movie that was released in 2018 and starred Tom Hardy, which smoked the box office and took home a large amount of money? I wanted to re-watch it because I remembered it being half decent, but after twenty minutes into the films running time I thought to myself "My god this film sucks". Now the movie doesn't just suck in terms of being an actual film (like most Marvel movies do), and it doesn't even just suck because they didn't have Spiderman in it... it sucks because it sucks. One of the major issues I take with the film is that it has no character development, and the very little character development that it does have, makes no fucking sense whatsoever. The characters in this film feel like their sole purpose is to change for each scene so that the film makes sense. Which means they don't feel like they have a reasonable starting to end point, it feels like they start, stop, start, stop, start, stop for the entirety of the films running time. I will say this though, Tom Hardy's performance in this film was great. Along with his acting, I also enjoyed Venom in the film and how he was this monstrous beast. Twas too much to ask for though, having both a good venom/Eddie and a good script I guess... Now the purpose of this article is going to be to discuss how they should write the second venom movie and how the second movie in this series could save Venom from being a flaming pile of trash. Because if they release another Venom that is close to resembling the first Venom, I think it will be the last time we see him on the big screen. So lets get writing and design this near perfect Venom 2 with all the bits and pieces from the first Venom!

Step 1: Include Spiderman
As much as I loved Venom's design in the first film, I truly do believe that he needs to have the white spider on his chest to solidify his design. And here's how you do it. Venom 2 takes place after Thanos's snap. Venom doesn't get snapped however, and was living his best life, taking down bad guys and being the anti-hero the first film set him up to be. The film begins then after this time has past and after Venom and Eddie have become "1". Carnage (Cletus Kasady) escapes during the snap btw and is now living in New York and begins to kill people. Eddie afraid of going to New York because of reasons mentioned in the first film that I cannot remember, denies Venom the chance to capture his off-spring Carnage and stop him from ravaging New York. Venom and Eddie then have a big fight, in which Venom un-bonds from Eddie and leaves him. Venom then travels to New York using a series of hosts. One of the hosts he inhabits causes a car crash and almost sends the car flying off a bridge, but before the car can fall, Spiderman swoops in and saves the passengers. *You could make this car crash caused by Carnage, but it doesn't have to be*. Anyways, Venom see's how powerful Spiderman is and decides to bond with him. Spiderman then becomes infected with Venom and dawns the Black Suit from the comics. Cut now to a couple months later and we see an Eddie who is now severely depressed and filled with rage. Eddie has pushed out everyone in his life (including his ex-fiance) and is on the verge of losing his home. Eddie doesn't know who he is without Venom and is filled with rage that Venom found Spiderman. Eddie then becomes obsessed and begins to fixate on getting Venom back. *Have Eddies apartment filled with pictures of Black Spiderman*.

Spiderman during this time period is starting to realize that Venom is evil and that he doesn't want the symbiote. *Have Spiderman almost kill a man that he is interrogating in order to find Carnage*. Spiderman then begins to torture the symbiote with both heat and sound, and eventually he gets the symbiote off in an all night battle. The symbiote close to death is then found by Eddie as he was tracking Spiderman. Eddie bonds with the symbiote and he becomes Venom again. Eddie and Venom both swear revenge on Spiderman and hate him for the pain that they believe he caused them, and BOOM now Venom has the white spider logo! After this whole situation occurs Venom begins to track Carnage down because he is still at large and more of a threat than Spiderman currently is. Spiderman is also tracking Carnage though. Spiderman and Venom both find Carnage, but secretly Carnage set up a trap for them, which causes Spiderman and Venom to fight. A big serious Battle occurs between the two, Spidermans suit gets ruined, and just when Carnage thinks Venom is going to kill Spiderman, he appears. We are then made aware that Carnage was watching the whole fight and that this was a trap. Carnage then tells Venom to kill Spiderman. Spiderman pleads for his life, and tells him that Carnage is just using him *symbolize how Carnage witnessed his dad kill his mom*. Venom acknowledges this and then helps Spiderman up and they team-up to defeat Carnage. THE END.

Step 2: Make Carnage Dark and Twisted!
Okay, I'll compromise and say that Woody Harrelson gets to play Cletus Kasady/Carnage because they already casted him. Even though in my personal opinion, I believe they should have stayed truer to the comic books and gotten someone else. Whatever the case is, lets keep him as the main actor and begin to design our Carnage. In step 1 I said that Carnage is now in New York killing people, however what I didn't say is that I believe Carnage should be acting as a serial killer. This way you can build Carnage's backstory, as he viciously hunts down the people who he believes wronged him. Now I don't want Carnage to come across as a victim or receive any sympathy from the viewers, so Carnage's morals and the people he kills should be completely messed up and horrible. Alright so, his backstory.. have him visit his childhood home that is abandoned or maybe it has homeless people inside that he kills, either way have him relieve some old memories, where we see how fucked up he was as a child (i.e. killing his grandmother or doing other messed up shit). Carnage is going to be dark in this film, I want him to feel like he's out of a horror movie/slasher film. When he kills someone it should make the viewer feel an empty pit in their stomach or sad, and his scenes should all be twisted and dark to enhance his horrific acts and the horror style. Overall I want people leaving the theater thinking "wow that Carnage guy is fucking scary". NOW OKAY, I get it, the Carnage I'm pitching is an 18+ Carnage, but if studios don't want that then just don't show the murders first hand... just imply them and use magical camera work to avoid showing the extremely gory stuff. But if the PG version is taken... I just pray that they make Carnage "Carnage" and not some horrible movie version where he doesn't kill anyone cause Venom stops him in time or some shit like that.
Following these two easy steps will allow for a variety of things to come true, all while maintaining the original theme that Venom had in the first film. The only major thing that I'm proposing is that Spiderman is in this film, other than that I'm just pitching a darker themed Venom where the characters resemble more of their comic book counter parts.
